Phoenix Park

This is one of the most beautiful parks in Dublin, with an 11 kilometre perimeter wall and a full sized zoo inside. It has become one of the most popular destinations for people who want to spend a day with their families. Phoenix Park is known as one of the biggest city parks in all of Europe and it opens all year long.


Here are three main sections to this park. You have Castlenock on the north-west side, St James to the north and Chapelizod to the south. One of the main attractions that the park has to offer is the beautiful Dublin Zoo, which contains more than 700 animals and birds from all over the world.


MemorialThe Wellington monument in the park is also a very beautiful location that holds the record for the largest obelisk in all of Europe. The Deerfield residence is also located here and it has been the residence for the United States Ambassador since the 1960’s.

The magazine fort is also a very beautiful location that everyone should visit when they go to the Phoenix Park. There are many other places that will be worth visiting, such as the headquarters for the Gardai and the Ratra House, which used to be the home of the civil defence in Ireland.

There are also plenty of concerts help in this park through the year with high caliber celebrities like Duran Duran, Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Snoop Dog and the Red Hot Chili peppers amongst other artists performing here.
